Matariki Quiz

I learned in the Matariki quiz
That there are lots of other names for Matariki such as Pleiades, Subaru.
And the dates of the time to see the cluster.
what the cluster means in Maori culture.
How the Maori can use the cluster to tell the future
I learnt this off the Matariki quiz on the Museum of NZ website, I enjoyed doing this quiz because I was interested in the subject and it taught me lots of stuff

LEGO Ecosystem

This is a LEGO ecosystem I made. It has got a: Bat (Consumer, biotic), Wolf (Predator, biotic), Spider (Producer, biotic), Snake (Predator, biotic), Fish (Producer, biotic), Frog (Consumer, biotic), and a Rabbit (Consumer, biotic) Worms were my decomposers but I didn't have a lego one. I enjoyed building the habitat of all these animals. The thing that challenged me the most was angling the spider web piece on the triangle plate. The animals co-exist together by producing, consuming, decomposing. An example: the rabbit eats the flower, the wolf eats the rabbit. the snake eats a frog, the spider eats the snake.

Pacific attack

The Pacific Ocean has an island like a patch of garbage in between California and Hawaii.

Mothers day card

This is the card that I drew for Mother's day yesterday.  I looked at two different pictures of a fantail (Piwakawaka) to get inspiration. For my grandmas, I drew a cornflower and some poppies. I enjoyed drawing the birds and flowers.

Design a sea animal.

This is my creature for today. It lives in the benthic zone and is named the camouflaged snake because its dark blue skin blends in with the gloom of light.  Its habitat in the benthic regions is deep below in the trenches. I made this creature as a sea snake because there are a lot of snake-like things in the benthic zone.

How much will dinner cost?

This is my work for the activity "How much will dinner cost?". This is if you had nothing and made this meal it would cost ______ and serve 4 people. I really enjoyed this project because you could look through supermarket websites and see how much all the ingredients price.

Aquatic vocabulary

This is my Aquatic vocabulary so people that don't know the meaning of some Word in the Aquatic regions.

Sea Regions

This is my work for literacy today. I found this really interesting with facts about Benthic, Nekton, and intertidal zones. What I found most interesting that plankton can create oxygen! What I found hard was finding information about the zones.

Identifying factors

This my worksheet for Thursday, Week 4, Term two. I found this activity a bit confusing at first but my Teacher ( Mum ) explained it for me so I could work it out easier.

Possum problem

This is the activity I completed today for literacy medals. I enjoyed learning about why possums affect the NZ forest and wildlife, along with why they were imported in 1837.

Possum Ecosystem

This my model of a possum ecosystem made out of LEGO.
I also made a picture so you can get a better idea of a good ecosystem with food, predators, and where the possum lives.
We did this because it was an activity for Paroa School and we needed to draw, build, or find a habitat. My drawing shows more details because LEGO does not have any insects so I couldn't put them in my LEGO model.

Ecosystem

This is my labeled diagram of an ecosystem. I enjoyed drawing this picture and labeling it. the hardest part was thinking of different bugs, insects, arachnids, and birds. the bird that I drew was a bird that I saw fly into the garden. It was a goldfinch! I looked through our NZ bird book and looked through the information. If I could add more it would be more insects I couldn't add because I didn't have enough room on the paper. The abiotic helpers are non-living things that help the environment, the biotic helpers are living organisms that help the environment by consuming, producing, and decomposing.

Blood falls

This is the picture I drew for an activity that involved a descriptive caption that we had to picture in our mind and draw. I really liked this piece of work because you got to draw.

Vocabulary

This activity was quite fun because you got to take photos and describe words. My favorite part was taking pictures of different animals and living organisms such as sheep and bacteria.

Squared numbers

This is my maths for term two weeks four. I found this activity easy but I didn't really understand the last one so Jack and mum showed me different techniques of explaining it so I could work it out.
