Rangoli

This is the rangoli pattern I designed, A rangoli pattern is a pattern that symbolizes welcome. It is used in India during Diwali - the festival of lights. I found this fun as we got to make a pattern, I found this challenging as I had to find colors that go well together. Rangoli patterns are colorful and made of sand, they usually are the form of a flower shape.

Calendar art

This is my calendar art for 2022, I found making this very interesting as we learnt about the warm and cool colours. We had to draw a special place for us, my special place is down at a creek where our property ends (e.g the fence posts) I enjoyed using the pastels to blend them into each other so they look better. This is one of my favourite calendar arts we have done as it is something unique for each person's art ( mine is a creek someone's is a beach.)

Kowhaiwhai drawing

This is the custom kowhaiwhai I made for the summer learning journey. The hardest part is to create it because you only get one piece and can only rotate or flip it.

Graffiti or street art? task 2

Yesterday we read an article about people being arrested for doing graffiti or street art? I enjoyed reading this because it was a very interesting article and it had different street artists at the end of the article. The article was about two men that were jailed for graffiti and showed similar cases.

I don't think the two men should have been arrested because street art can help people feel happy and it should be good if people graffiti because people make a living out of graffiti and some people make heaps of money from graffiti. So the two men shouldn't be arrest because they are just lifting people's spirits and beautifying the city or town.

Self poitrait

This is my self-portrait. I hope you like it. I have made half with the polyline and the other is a photo
. I found getting a good photo challenging.getting the right colors right was the most frustrating. I love doing polyline as a self-portrait and I really enjoyed this project.

This is my Dick Frizzell artwork. I choose this because it was easiest. We drew these because we are doing pukeko in a ponga tree which is the song we are doing for our Christmas parade. My favorite artwork by dick Frizzell in the song pukeko in a ponga tree was the 5 big fat pigs.
